A new partner for economic growth

Enelco S.A. is a new company created in response
to increasing energy demand in Greece and
Southestern Europe.
It was officially established in September 1999.
As of 2006, 75% of the equity share is owned by Enel, and 25% by Prometheus Gas S.A. (the Greek-Russian joint venture with OAO Gazprom).
Enelco aims at developing, implementing and operating power projects in the electricity sector.
In doing so, it will improve the energy supply security and support the economic growth in the region.
Its objective is to become the major alternative power
producer to the incumbent Public Power Corporation and take advantage of the opportunities arising in the Greek electricity market.
